New School

This is me writeing a blog post on our family blog heres the link if you want to check it out http://hirn-happyhealthyhomeschoolers.blogspot.com/
As I have said before I am home schooled.  I love being home schooled but, sometimes it can get a little out of hand.  Like the beginning of this year for example.  First I will give you the context of the story so you can understand some of what was going on.  Well, it was July and we had just moved from Michigan to Pennsylvania.  Just so you know, PA and MI are like an apple and an orange though there both round we all know how different they really are.  So, anyway we just moved and Mom was already working on figuring out what we were going to do for school and I was helping her.  Meanwhile  Dad was working nonstop and if he was not working he was sleeping.  We were going to church but, other than that we had no social activity mostly because we did not know were to go or who to meet.  Our neighbors were not very welcoming (they still aren't even though we've reached out to them.).  So we kept going to church getting more involved and slowly starting to meet people.  Mom and I kept working on school trying to find room for everything the laws require plus, everything we wanted to teach.  Lydia and I joined a choir and made lots of Friends there.  And we  looked for sports for Rachel and the boys to play (though we did not find any till just last month).  So this is the way we started school `lost in a strange place' with no Friends and stressed out over...well life I guess.  You see we were already an emotional mess before school started and when it did what do you think happened.  Actually we liked school at first it was fun and we did a lot of crafts and stuff but, after awhile school became a burden and began to pile up.  We dragged through the semester doing as much a we could stand but, it was just to much.  BTW we did make Friends and stuff during this time but, for the most part day to day living was a drag.  During this time my Mom had been doing research TONS of research on eating healthier and on Biblical schooling.  So, this semester we started new,  new school, new diet, and new life style.  We threw the text books out the window and began using the only book that is a 100% truth the BIBLE.  We do all are subjects (except math) using only the bible no boring text books.  We cleaned out our library keeping only books that fit with what the bible teaches and books that are good for literature.  We also kept books about history and science and other topics like that for anyone who wants to study them but, we do not have to use them if we do not want to.  We are now doing what is called copying the bible it is just what it sounds like we copy the bible.  You can learn more about that at http://blog.inkleinations.com/ .  We do other things of course but,  the bible is the center of everything we do in school and in life. Of course were not perfect and were still learning  but, why waste our time on other things when everything we need to know is in God`s word.  I Love being home schooled and I LOVE learning from the only book I can truly trust.  Tyler

All about my life

This is my family well most of it Christianna was not born when this picture was taken.  From left to right  Daniel (16) is in the back,  Brenden (12) is in front, Josh (6) is next,  my mom, Then dad is in the back, Davey (8) is in front of dad, Zach (4) is in front of Davey,  Tyler/me (15) is in the back with Miah (8) in front of me, Rachel (14) is holding Steve (2),  Bekah (12) is next to them,  And last is Lydia (13),  Anna is not in the picture but, she is turning 1.

The first thing you need to know about me is that I am a christian and I am proud of it.  Next thing you need to understand is that I am home schooled.  In fact everyone in my house is home schooled (at least for now).  I love being home schooled and many of my posts will be about my schooling.  As you can see I am blessed with a large family and I am also blessed\cursed with being one of the oldest.  I say blessed because it really is a blessing to be the oldest girl.  Every one looks up to you and thinks the world of you.  I say being the oldest girl is also a curse because EVERYONE looks up to YOU and EXPECTS the world of YOU.  Honestly though I like being the oldest, every position in the family has it`s advantages and disadvantages.  I think being the oldest has more advantages than disadvantages.  In my house I am the teachers (Mom) administrative assistant. My job is to keep things organized and running smoothly.  Sometimes this is a very difficult task but, most times I enjoy it.  I love to organize things!! I keep our family library and our school room clean and organized.  Currently I am going through all our books and getting rid of ones we don`t need or want.  What do I do with these books?  Well Daniel and I are going to put them on Craig's list for sale (with my moms help).  We are also going through our whole house getting rid of stuff we don`t need. Some we donate and some we sell.  I like to do this, we find so much stuff we did not even know we had like an ice cream maker!  Some other things you might want to know are that we are from Michigan and just moved to Pennsylvania last July.  We moved because my Dad got a long deserved promotion.  At first as you may expect we hated it here but, now it is begining to feel like a second home.  I can say that (though Michigan will always be better than Pennsylvania) it is a pretty nice place.   Until next time,  Tyler
